Diamond weave is a woven pattern based on the classic twill weave. By regularly alternating the direction of the diagonal stripes in the weave, tiny diamond-shaped diamonds are created. This weave has been known since antiquity and was widely used in the early Middle Ages. Different colours of weft and warp yarn are used to achieve a more distinctive pattern.
