Plain is the simplest basic type of weave known to mankind itself. It is a so-called “double-faced” weave, that is, the proportion of warp weave points and weft weave points is in the ratio of 1/1. This gives the plain the same appearance from the front and back.
Linen with cotton (barchet)- is known and popular in Europe since the end of the 13th century. Compared to pure linen, this fabric is made of finer fibres with a denser finish. This combination of plant fibres gives the fabrics woven from them properties such as softness, strength and affordability.
